Shooting Times
All year - Outdoors Saturday & Sunday from1:30 pm & Tuesday & Thursday from 10:00 am:
Summer Months (BST) - Outdoors Monday & Friday evenings from 5:00 pm until dusk:
Winter Months (GMT)  - Indoors Wednesday and/or Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm:
 

Indoor Shooting Guide:

 

• Indoor archery is available usually twice a week. Wednesday and Friday evening at the Staveley Speedwell Rooms from late October.

• All shooting nights will be on the club calendar.

• Maximum for shooting will be twelve archers per evening. This should allow everyone interested a chance to shoot once a week.

• Cost on the night is £5.00 pet adult or £3.00 for a junior (unless notified otherwise). This can be cash, card or prior paid BACs.

• Entrance and parking is at the rear of the building.

• The venue is booked 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. But we are allowed in early but must be out before 9:00 p.m.

• The venue is open from 6:30 pm. Please arrive around that time to assist in setting up the equipment.

• Shooting will start once everything is set up. Usually around 6:50 p.m.

• Shooting will stop around 8:45 or earlier and equipment is then taken down and stored..

• Due to lack of storage, no club kit (bow, arrows etc) is available indoors.

• If you cannot get there to assist in setting up, it is good practise that you assist in taking down and and storing.

• The round normally shot is a Portsmouth. Twenty yards, 60 cm face. Ten zone scoring 60 arrows shot. Three arrows shot per end. Everyone shoots together and collects together.

 

Booking

• Please do not book multiple weeks. Only book seven days in advance.

• Please do not book more than one evening per week, however, on the day of the indoor shoot if there is availability on the calendar at that point feel free to book a second session.

• If you need to cancel on the shooting day, please remove your name from the calendar and send out a WhatsApp message stating there is a space available.

• Check you are listed in the calendar prior to setting off.

• Your shooting evening can be either Wednesday or Friday and can vary throughout the season.

 

Health and Safety 

• If icy the rear entrance (concrete ramp) may become slippery.

• Be aware there is a lot of valuable equipment and tripping hazards in a small area.

• The AGB etiquette of archery states if a member damages another archers equipment they should offer to pay for the damage.

• The archery targets are free standing and NOT secured.

• When pulling arrows ALWAYS secure the boss with the none pulling hand.

• On the shooting line keep the bow vertical at all times and do not invade the other archers space.
